Ballyroe Solar Farm, Charleville, Co. Cork
Ballyroe Solar Farm is a landmark renewable energy project located near Charleville, Co. Cork, representing a major step forward in Ireland’s transition to sustainable energy.
Spanning approximately 747 acres, the development will deliver over 212MW of clean electricity through the installation of more than 330,000 solar panels. The project also incorporates extensive supporting infrastructure, including 38 field transformer stations and over 1.7 million metres of DC, LV, and MV cabling, forming a critical component of Ireland’s future energy network.
The project is being delivered by Murphy International, a leading global engineering and construction company, on behalf of ILOS. Works are already well advanced, with full site mobilisation and significant infrastructure now in place to support a large-scale construction programme.
We supplied aggregates directly to Murphy International and ILOS for use across the development, supporting the construction of access roads, hardstand areas, drainage networks, and key civil infrastructure. Our materials form part of the essential groundwork enabling the successful delivery of a project of this scale.
Once complete, Ballyroe Solar Farm will make a substantial contribution to Ireland’s renewable energy capacity, strengthening national energy security while supporting long-term climate and sustainability objectives.
